βMags Munroe is a brilliant character. Jean Grainger has outdone herself with this series. β -Brandi Reads-
What I Liked About This Book:
I never thought I would like a character as much as I like Jean Grangerβs main character Conor OβShea from her first series: βThe Tourβ. And then came Mags Munroe.
Mags Munroe is the local police sergeant in a small town in Ireland. Part of the community includes the Travelers. Mags is the go between of the community and the Travelers.
Throughout βGrowing Wild in the Shadeβ, we see Mags working through internal conflicts of being a working mom and wife; entering midlife and bodily changed, being a police officer and community policing. There is additional conflict between several characters, including Mags, after the events of book #1. This has an impact on Mags and her personal relationships. The reader sees Mags work through these conflicts through out the series.
I throughly enjoyed this series. I found the storyline and characters to be very relatable. I honestly can see the events from this series occurring in real life. The realness and depth made me want to keep reading!
Why You Should Read This Book
If you enjoy womenβs detective fiction, with a strong female lead character and you are open to reading a book with characters who live a lifestyle different from yours, then I highly recommend you read the Mags Munroe series.
Trigger Warning: this book contains assault, traveller lifestyle, trauma, PTSD, LGBTQ relationship. If these topics are upsetting for you, I would recommend reading with caution.
The Mags Munroe series is available exclusively on Amazon.
