Jewish American Fiction, Historical Biographical Fiction, Jewish Literature

I am an avid reader and I enjoy reading historical fiction novels. I do not give 5 stars on books very often. However, this book is worth it!
This novel is breathtakingly well written. I felt as though I was there with the characters. This book is based on the authors family history and their experiences during WWII.
I enjoyed the authors note at the end and hearing more about the author’s journey to writing a book based on her Jewish family and how the initial conversation at a family reunion sparked the curiosity to dig deeper.
I truly respect Mrs. Hunter’s tenacity, depth and openness about her family’s experience.
I highly recommend reading this book and look forward to reading more of her work.
